‘Judgement’: Portia Doubleday, Christine Adams & Ken Kirby Join ABC Pilot
DEADLINE – EXCLUSIVE: Portia Doubleday (Mr. Robot), Christine Adams (Black Lightning) and Ken Kirby (Good Trouble) are set as series regulars opposite Sarah Shahi, Reid Scott and François Arnaud in Judgement, ABC’s drama pilot from former Charmed showrunner Joey Falco and 20th Television.
Written and executive produced by Falco, Judgement is a high-stakes legal soap that redefines the genre by playing out over two timelines. Fifteen years from now, a woman (Shahi) being vetted for a Supreme Court seat recounts her experience at a prominent D.C. law firm in 2023, where the only thing more controversial than the cases was her messy love life, caught between two feuding brothers (Scott, Arnaud). Now, with a Supreme Court seat on the line, all of her darkest secrets are at risk of coming out, threatening her nomination, her reputation and her marriage.
Doubleday will play Eloise ‘Ellie’ Roth, a quirky, eternally optimistic, up-and-coming associate who strikes an immediate friendship with her new colleague, Mia (Shahi). She also happens to be the daughter of the firm’s founder, leading many to see her as a classic nepo-baby; but the brilliant, determined Ellie sees proving herself as an exciting challenge (almost as exciting as her favorite reality TV show, which she will not shut up about).
Falco executive produces with Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan, Shahi and Jordan Cerf. Paul McGuigan directs and also executive produces. 20th Television is the studio.
Doubleday is best known for her role as Angela, friend to Rami Malek’s character Elliot, on Mr. Robot, which ran for four seasons on USA Network. She also starred as Heather opposite Matthew Perry in ABC’s Mr. Sunshine. Her film credits include Youth In Revolt opposite Michael Cera, Spike Jonze’s Her and Kimberly Peirce’s Carrie, among others. Doubleday is repped by Anonymous Content, Paradigm Talent Agency and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson McGinnis Ryan.

Portia Doubleday on ‘Fantasy Island’ and Saying Goodbye to ‘Mr. Robot’
The actor discusses her Blumhouse horror movie, now on digital, and her exit from the acclaimed USA drama: “I thought about it for months and months and months.”
[This interview contains spoilers for Mr. Robot season four.]
THR – In October 2019, Portia Doubleday shocked Mr. Robot fans when she stated that it was her decision to leave the show earlier than expected. Even series creator Sam Esmail acknowledged that the early exit of Doubleday’s fan-favorite character, Angela Moss, was not the writers’ original plan. While the actor alludes to there being multiple reasons why she decided to retire her signature role well ahead of schedule, she still maintains that it fits the creative spirit of Mr. Robot.
“Fantasy Island” Cast Interview (Video)

There’s no better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a new horror thriller! This eekend, Sony and Blumhouse have you covered in the “make you so scared you hold on to your significant other for dear life” department with their new spin on the Gene Levitt TV series, Fantasy Island.
In this new version directed by Jeff Wadlow, Michael Peña fills the role of the mysterious Mr. Roarke played by Ricardo Montalbán in the original series. The character welcomes a group of guests to his remote resort where he promises to make their fantasies a reality. While this might sound like the place to wish to “have it all,” the guests quickly find out that those seemingly fool-proof, harmless dreams could quickly devolve into deadly nightmares,
With Fantasy Island making its way into theaters on February 14th, Peña and co-stars Portia Doubleday, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Jimmy O. Yang and Ryan Hansen all swung by the Collider Studio to talk about the movie. They each give us the 101 on their characters but just wait until you hit the point in the conversation when they start talking about filming in Fiji, not having bathrooms in the jungle and the time when one of them got bit by a bat. (Yes, really.) You can hear about all of that and everyone’s fantasy movie role in this video interview.
